Psychotherapy
Our goal is to provide trauma-focused psychotherapy that is tailored to your specific needs in order to treat symptoms and reactions that are a result of the trauma you have experienced. The way trauma is experienced can look different for everyone - it may look like depression, anxiety, grief, anger, intense body reactions that seemingly come out of nowhere, behavioral issues, relationship issues, intrusive thoughts or memories, sexual reactive behaviors or sexual dysfunctions, low self-esteem, overwhelming shame... the list is endless. Whether the trauma happened in childhood or more recently - the aim is to help you overcome the trauma you've experienced and heal. It is never too late or too early to focus on your emotional health and gain a better understand of yourself.

The type of psychotherapy offered at Human Kindness is not a quick fix or "band-aid" solution. Our therapists provide long-term therapy with the intention of helping you build insight and make long-term changes. This is a commitment on both the therapist and the client - a true team effort.
It is not a therapist's job to tell you what to do, give advice, or "fix you" (because you are not "broken") - a therapist's job is to gain an understanding of who you are and what you have been going through in order to help you better understand yourself and connect to your emotions. By working together in this way, YOU are better able to meet your goals while feeling empowered along the way.
